MUSCLE BEACH : L'esprit old school de Venice

MUSCLE BEACH: Venice's old-school spirit

Every bodybuilder has heard of muscle beach, the famous outdoor gym located on Venice beach in Los Angeles. This iconic venue was a mecca for bodybuilders in the 70s. Steve Reeves, Jack Dellinger, Dave Draper and Arnold Schwarzenegger all trained there.

Muscle Beach was inaugurated in 1934, first in Santa Monica, following a terrible earthquake that struck the region in 1933 and destroyed most of the city's sports clubs, leaving many athletes without a structure to train in. For a long time, Muscle Beach was the only gym in Los Angeles. After its destruction in Santa Monica, it moved to Venice Beach.

Venice Weights' visual identity is inspired by this golden age and this incredible location steeped in history. The Old School touch is much appreciated by bodybuilders, and concrete is the perfect example. Building your homegym in concrete and using concrete weights for bodybuilding gives the weights an old-school, raw look, just like the machines used to be.
