But is concrete recyclable?
Today, it is estimated that over 80% of the concrete used in our buildings can be recycled and reused, but the main problem is sorting it. It has to be separated from other materials such as PVC or reinforcement. This sorting problem doesn't exist with our weights, since they're 100% made of concrete.
They're 100% recyclable, so all you have to do is drop them off at a suitable recycling point.
And what about our molds?
Our DIY concrete weight molds have several advantages over conventional cast-iron weights. First of all, they're made from solid recycled materials and can be used over and over again. Remember to clean them thoroughly with water after each use, for better maintenance. If, by misfortune, you damage or break your cast-iron weight, your only option is to replace it. Here, our molds can be used to create dozens and dozens of recyclable weights.
The second, and most obvious, aspect relates to delivery. When you order a cast-iron weight, its delivery, whether to a store or to your home, involves a carbon footprint that links the weight of the object to be shipped, its origin, the journey and the mode of transport. Our molds have
negligible weight compared to cast iron. In this way, we can directly influence these factors and drastically reduce the carbon footprint of each weight designed thanks to you.
